Light Excavation
Not every dirt job needs a fleet of dozers. We handle the middle ground: building pads, final grading, drainage corrections, trenching, and the site prep that gets a project ready without a commercial-excavation invoice.

A lot of our excavation work starts as another job — a cleared homesite that needs a pad, a driveway that needs a culvert, a yard that holds water every spring. Having one crew that clears, grades, and hauls means the project doesn't stall between trades.
We're straight about scope: basements, big ponds, and mass earthmoving belong with a heavy excavation outfit, and we'll tell you so. Pads, grading, trenches, and drainage? That's our lane.
- Building pads for shops, barns, and sheds
- Rough and final grading
- Drainage correction and swales
- Trenching for water and electric runs
- Small pond and ditch cleanups
Light Excavation questions
Do you dig basements or ponds?
Not full basements or large ponds — that's heavy-excavation work and we'd rather point you to someone set up for it than do it halfway. Pads, grading, trenches, and drainage we do all day.
Can you prep a pad for a pole barn?
Yes — that's one of our most common jobs. We strip, grade, and compact the pad to the builder's spec so the crew can start setting posts the day they arrive.
